Jonathan Waboso-Barrow

Jon is an Analyst at LTS-Niras.He brings experience in infrastructure programme delivery, agriculture finance and food security, social enterprise, impact investment and capacity building initiatives gained from previous roles in consulting, public and private sectors. He will provide business development, technical consultancy and project management across a range of areas for LTS-Niras, for major UK and global organisations.

Jon joined the team from CDC Group where he developed strategies for a capacity building initiative rolled out across six Sub-Saharan African economies to develop leadership and managerial capacity in the private sector. He is also an affiliate of The University of West Indies’ Centre for Food Security and Entrepreneurship where he works alongside the centres’ Founding Director to establish new funding mechanisms for the university’s investment projects. Jon also completed a social venture incubator programme at Cambridge Business school having designed, piloted and launched an investment platform targeting agriculture projects in Kenya. Prior to this, he worked across the UK’s infrastructure advisory sector in partnership funding and programme and risk management in aviation, nuclear, civils, environment and rail.

Jon is currently working towards his MSc in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies. His on the ground experience includes The Caribbean (Barbados) and West Africa (Ghana), although he has contributed to assignments across both regions.
