Samantha first joined LTS-NIRAS as Information and Data Assistant in 2019 and is currently working as an Analyst. Her technical speciality is Geographical Information Systems (GIS), with a focus on low carbon and sustainable infrastructure. She is passionate about energy governance and climate change mitigation, with core competencies in spatial modelling and analysis; database management; renewable energy generation; and utility network management. She will provide business development, technical consultancy and project management across a range of areas for LTS-NIRAS, for major UK and global organisations.
Prior to her current role, Samantha worked as a Geospatial Analyst within the University of Edinburgh. During this time, she was involved in digitising and georeferencing energy networks across the University, with additional work regarding green infrastructure and app development. She recently completed her MSc in GIS, in which she focused on the development of renewably sourced district heating networks in Scotland.
Samantha is a keen advocate for Women in STEM, currently affiliated with the Women in Geospatial+ network. She continues to support Edinburgh University Women in STEM following her recent role as postgraduate representative.
Country experience includes Europe and Malaysian Borneo.
